Wawade AB ("we", "us", "our") operates Proofreader 2 (the "Add-On"), a Google Docs add-on that provides AI-powered writing assistance. This policy describes how we handle your information.

Permissions We Request

When you install the Add-On, Google asks you to grant these permissions:

See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app^*

To read your document content

View and manage documents that this application has been installed in^*

To apply suggestions you approve, and revert them if you so choose

See your primary Google Account email address

To identify your account

View your country, language, and timezone

To calculate your daily usage limits based on your local time

Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications

To show the Add-On's sidebar interface

Connect to an external service

To communicate with Google's Gemini AI and our account services

* These two permissions work together. Both are required to fully interact with your document.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

• Provide proofreading and writing suggestions
• Manage your account and usage limits
• Process payments (for paid subscriptions)

Third-Party Services

To provide our service, we use:

• Google Gemini API — Your document content and prompts are sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate suggestions. We use the paid API tier, which means your data is not used to train Google's models. See Google's Gemini API data usage policy for details.
• Google Cloud (Firestore) — Stores account and subscription data
• Stripe — Processes payments for subscriptions

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What We Store

• Basic account information (your email address, time zone, subscription status, usage counts).
• For inactive accounts (no activity for 3+ months) without a paid subscription, personal information is automatically removed while preserving anonymized usage statistics.
• Paid subscribers' data is retained until you request deletion.

What We Don't Store

We do not have persistent access to your documents or chat history.

• Document content — processed only when you use the Add-On. We cannot browse, list, or access your documents outside of your active use of the Add-On.
• Chat history — stored locally by Google, tied to your account and document, not accessible to us
• Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe

Diagnostic Logging

In normal operation, we do not log your document content or chat messages.

If you contact us for support and troubleshooting is required, we may ask your permission to temporarily enable diagnostic logging for your account. This logging may include document content and AI responses, and is stored in Google Cloud Logs for up to 30 days. We will inform you before enabling this and only do so with your consent.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may disclose your information if required by law, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users.

International Transfers

Your document content is transmitted to Google's Gemini API, which may be located outside your jurisdiction (for example, outside the EU/EEA). We apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable law.

Security

All data is transmitted securely using HTTPS encryption. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access — request what personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
• Restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data
• Portability — request a copy of your data in a structured format
